P.E.A.R.S. defines new direction after V4SAFETY

On 6 May '26 P.E.A.R.S. members met online for the Spring General Assembly. With the V4SAFETY project now completed, the focus shifted to what comes next. The main objective of the meeting was to agree on an updated direction for P.E.A.R.S. This included the reformulation of its objective and a revision of its working group structure.

Clearer focus, fewer working groups
Members reviewed and voted on both the content and naming of the working groups. The outcome is a simplified structure: three working groups instead of four.
This change reflects the updated objective(s) and is intended to improve focus and coordination across activities.

Alignment with updated objectives
A revised P.E.A.R.S. objective was agreed, building on the results of V4SAFETY while adapting to current priorities. The new structure is directly aligned with this objective.
To reflect these changes, the P.E.A.R.S. website will be updated in the coming period.

Next steps
The next General Assembly is planned for Q4 of this year, where progress under the new structure will be reviewed.
